When used with the "Redirect category shell" (Rcat shell) template:

From predecessor company name: This is a redirect from the name of a former company to a successor company.
- This applies to mergers and acquisitions – if this redirect resulted from a company that changed its name, then use {{R from former name}} instead.

When appropriate, protection levels are automatically sensed, described and categorized.
