Hello.

Can you translate and upload the article

en:List of cities in Azerbaijan in Tumbuka Wikipedia?

Yours sincerely, Noroii (pakuchezgela) 19:05, 27 Epulelo 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Noroii can you use this tool and translate. I will check out the minor errors and fix if found. Alternatively, you can use content tool translation found here in your userpages. Tumbuka Arch 07:13, 28 Epulelo 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the recommendation.
I will send the translated text to you to correct and fix it.

New template

I’ve been thinking about adding a template saying “this article needs review from a native Tumbuka speaker for correct grammar” or something similar to put above article made by me or other none-native people who only can speak/write a little of the language. Thoughts?   CubanoBoi   05:02, 9 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)   CubanoBoi   05:02, 9 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply

@CubanoBoi Long time huh. Good to see you. Literally, your translations have no issues at all. It is best to simply go direct into mainspace and write that. I don't think they need that at all.
And did you know? I carried out some off-wiki campaigns and petitions for the Google Translate to add the Tumbuka language on its site. Before that, I had requested it here in the Translate Community where I was directed.
Last month, Google Translated successfully added Tumbuka on its site, hoewver, the language is not yet added on its app, but only on its online version. Hopefully in some nearest future, if not months, the language will be added on its app version.
You are invited to try it out: https://translate.google.com/?sl=en&tl=tum&op=translate
Again, if you need some translations, I hope Google's Translation tool may help than the one we know. Tumbuka Arch 16:59, 9 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply
Pinging @Caro de Segeda that Tumbuka is now on Google Translate Tumbuka Arch 17:00, 9 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply
Wow that’s actually incredible, I just checked it and it’s really good, can’t believe they only need one person to do it lol, incredible job on that!   CubanoBoi   18:48, 9 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also, question, would ChiSpanish be translated as Chisipanishi (google translate translation) or as it already is in the article, and should the S be capital? Thanks!   CubanoBoi   20:54, 9 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply
@CubanoBoi No need for the capital S. The Spanish article is already well translated. However, if you wanna use Google Translate to expand or re-translate it, well, it is still good news.
And hey, can you renew your sysop on community page? Thanks. Tumbuka Arch 07:33, 10 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply

Files you uploaded

Hello! You have uploaded many files. Are you the photographer?

All files should have 3 or sometimes things:

  1. A source that explain where the file is from. It can be a link to a website or a statement like "I took this photo".
  2. An author that says thow the photographer / copyright holder is. It can be your username if you are the photographer or someone else if you have the photo from the Internet.
  3. A valid license. If you are the photographer you can chose a license like {{Cc-by-sa-4.0}} and if you are not the photographer you must chose the license the photographer have chosen.
  4. If you are not the photographer you should provide evidence that shows that the photographer agreed to the license. It can be a link to a website where it says what the license is. It can also be a mail send to c:COM:VRTS.

Perhaps you can check the files you uploaded and add {{Information}} and fill in the relevant information? MGA73 (pakuchezgela) 18:49, 17 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply

For example File:Amoeba Kumwenda Mzoma.jpg says the source is "Other" and it looks like the photo used at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ulj8nXqAPc and File:Chakufwa Chihana small portrait.jpg says source "Photography" and you uploaded it in 2023 but it looks like this photo from 2016 https://www.nyasatimes.com/chakufwa-chihana-remains-to-be-reburied-at-heroes-acre-malawi-pro-democracy-hero/
If there are any of the photos where you are not the photographer you should either have the files deleted or make sure they meet the requirements for fair use. --MGA73 (pakuchezgela) 19:00, 17 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply
@MGA73 Hi, I am one of the native speakers here and most files were uploaded to this wiki only. If they were for public use, I would have probably used the commons. Anyways, I will fix the licenses and links where apply. Of course, for future uploads, I will follow the necessary procedures described above. Thanks. Tumbuka Arch 19:43, 17 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello! That sounds good. Thank you. The rules here should not be much different from the rules on Commons because all wikis have to follow wmf:Resolution:Licensing_policy. Only difference is that wikipedia can chose to allow non-free files but Commons can't. --MGA73 (pakuchezgela) 19:54, 17 Ogasiti 2024 (UTC)Reply
