Template:DNB-IDN
Usage
lembaThis template frames links to title database entry IDs (German: Identifikationsnummer eines Titeldatensatzes aka IDN) in the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek (DNB) for usage in free flow text. Via the |id=
parameter it can be used inside of the various {{citation}} and {{cite xxx}} templates as well. This is particularly useful for older or historic publications as well as for those without ISBN.
At present it just allows these codes to be given in some documented way and links to both the corresponding entry in the database as well as the DNB article (in order to provide some explanation). It thereby helps to frame the code in some machine readable form and to standardize the appearance.
In the future the template could be expanded to make the given code available as meta-data or to provide some error checking.

).
